This policy lists the cookies that LocalSpect ("LocalSpect", "we", "us") uses on localspect.com and in the app at app.localspect.com, what each one does, and how long it lasts. It adds detail to our privacy policy.
The short version
- Only essential cookies. They keep you logged in and protect forms. None are used for advertising, analytics or following you across other sites.
- No cookie banner. Consent is needed for optional cookies. We don't set any, so there's nothing to accept or decline.
- Other companies' cookies stay on their pages. Stripe sets its own when you pay, and Google when you sign in with Google.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can recognize your browser on the next request. Browser storage, such as session storage, works in a similar way. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.
2. Cookies on our website
These are set on localspect.com, the site you're reading now.

3. Cookies in the app
These are set on app.localspect.com once you sign up or log in.

The app also keeps short-lived page state in your browser's session storage, so pages can restore where you were as you move around. It's cleared when you close the tab.
4. Cookies from other companies
- Stripe. When you buy a plan or credits, you pay on Stripe's checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud, under the Stripe privacy policy.
- Google. If you sign in with Google, you do that on Google's pages, under the Google privacy policy.
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare protects our site from attacks. If it asks your browser to pass a security check, it sets a cookie to remember that you passed, under the Cloudflare cookie policy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile. Our contact, opt-out and document request forms use Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending them. It processes only the signals it needs for that, such as your IP address and browser details, under the Turnstile privacy addendum.
We don't control these cookies.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website's pages still work without them, but its forms don't. The app doesn't either: without its cookies, you can't log in.
There's no cookie banner or preferences panel because every cookie we set is needed for the service to work. If we ever add optional cookies, such as for analytics, we'll ask for your consent first where the law requires it and list them here.
6. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the effective date at the top.
